SIOUX FALLS, SD -
The Minnehaha County State’s Attorney and the Lincoln County State’s Attorney have filed charges against the 25-year-old woman who led police on an early morning pursuit on Wednesday in Sioux Falls.
Rachel Coleman of Sioux Falls is being charged with 1st degree attempted murder, aggravated assault on law enforcement, vehicular battery, DWI, felony eluding and felony hit and run.
Authorities say the chase began in western Sioux Falls around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Coleman allegedly hit Trooper Andrew Steen's car and ran him over near a strip mall at 57th Street and Western Avenue.
Law enforcement says Coleman was shot before crashing the car she was driving near 47th and Western Avenue.
Coleman committed these crimes in both Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties, but she'll be charged in Lincoln County.
