A 63-year-old Faith man is expected to change his plea this week to charges resulting from a two-vehicle crash that killed a Pierre woman.
Walt Taton is scheduled to appear in the Hughes County Courthouse on Thursday.
Taton was charged in the April 28 crash five miles west of Hayes on Highway 34. Prosecutors say Taton was driving on the wrong side of the road when his westbound pickup collided head on with a van going east.
Twenty-eight-year-old Heather Unser, a passenger in the van, died as a result of her injuries, and driver Sadie Clark of Yankton was seriously injured.
Taton has been charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular battery, DUI and driving on the wrong side of the road.
