Centerville Bar Burglarized Friday Morning

A burglar broke into a Centerville bar early Friday, leaving several video lottery machines and an ATM damaged or destroyed.

Centerville Police Chief Brian Kimball said the suspect entered the Desert Inn between 2:40 and 3:30 a.m. Friday morning. He extracted money from two video lottery machines when he noticed a security camera. The suspect retrieved a can of spray paint and proceeded to paint over the camera's lens. Four video lottery machines, an ATM and a small fire safe were either damaged or destroyed, amounting to approximately $7,000 in damages.

The case is under investigation. If you have any information, contact the Department of Criminal Investigation at 605-773-3331.
