A new City of Sioux Falls report shows the largest city in South Dakota is still growing.
City officials estimate Sioux Falls' population at 166,700. The 2010 U.S. Census estimated Sioux Falls had declined in population, but July 2012 and July 2013 data showed an increase.
In the last ten years, the city has increased by an average of 2,300 people each year. Mike Cooper, the city's director of Planning and Building Services, says officials based the estimate on average population growth rates and building permit data.
