The Oglala Sioux Tribe along with Prairie Wind Casino and Hotel are embarking on a marketing and renovation initiative designed to attract more visitors to the southwest South Dakota casino.
Casino officials won't be asking players to bet the farm, but they will be offering a chance to win a house as well as a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a deluxe golf cart and a $25,000 cash prize.
Casino general manager Loris Welch says the house giveaway is already attracting attention from other casinos.
"Coming up in August, we are literally going to give away the house. We have purchased a fully furnished modular house right down to the silverware and the coffee pot. All you've got to bring is your suitcase, and you can move right in," Welch said.
Welch and other casino officials announced the initiative Friday morning during a media day at the casino. They plan to work with West River tourism officials to market the casino as a destination featuring the nearby Badlands National Park and the Black Hills.
