Authorities in northwest Iowa are investigating a serious crash involving a car and a school bus.
It happened Tuesday morning on 240th Street, east of Inwood. A Netherlands Reformed Christian School bus stopped to pick up kids when it was rear-ended by a 2010 Chevy Impala driven by a 16-year-old boy from Hull, Iowa.
Authorities tell us there were 15 children on the bus at the time and all of them appear to be okay, but the two people who were in the car have serious injuries. The driver was taken to the Canton-Inwood Hospital. A passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was air-lifted to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
The road was closed for most of the morning, but authorities had it opened up by 11:30 a.m.
Damage to the bus was estimated at $5,000 and damage to the Impala was estimated at $15,000.
