Candidates Raise Money For Campaigns

Candidates Raise Money For Campaigns
SIOUX FALLS, SD - With four months until the November election, candidates are building up their bank accounts. And some are significantly larger than others.

He may be uncontested, but that hasn't stopped Republican John Thune from raising more than $11 million.

In the race for the state's lone seat in the House, Democratic incumbent Stephanie Herseth Sandlin has raised $820,000 while Republican Kristi Noem has raised $243,000. Independent Thomas Marking is also running for that seat. The site shows he is yet to raise any campaign funds.

For a closer look at the numbers and where all of the money came from, visit a website that compiles reports from the Federal Election Commission.
