41st Street is commonly called the busiest street in South Dakota. 37,000 cars travel on the road every day, and if the city council decides to spend $3.8 million dollars on streets, it's a stretch of road that will be paved over.
If the council approves the money for street work, crews would also lay down asphalt on more of Minnesota Avenue.
"I think it would be a good idea. There's a couple of other streets that are worse, but there's a lot heavier traffic on them," Duane Coffman said.
Coffman rides his motorcycle around Sioux Falls in the summer and says he's in favor of smoothing out the streets.
"I think it's a good idea, especially with all the motorcycles and everything running around, just because of all the big potholes," Coffman said. But while Minnesota Avenue and 41st Street are the busiest, he says North Cliff Avenue is also in desperate need of repair.
"I was up there today with my bike and a couple of patch jobs they did up there are pretty bad," Coffman said.
If the council decides to spend the extra money on the roads, it would be an easier ride for Coffman and the thousands of other drivers who travel on this pavement every day.
The council will hold a work session next week to decide if they want to spend a part of the $3.8 million on streets.
