U.S. Attorney for South Dakota Brendan Johnson says a Bullhead woman has pleaded not guilty to federal bank embezzlement charges.
Johnson says that 29-year-old Ella Mae Kills Pretty Enemy entered the plea last week after being indicted by a grand jury in February.
Prosecutors allege that Kills Pretty Enemy stole money from the First National Bank in McLaughlin between November and December 2010. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 30 years or a $1 million fine.
Kills Pretty Enemy has been released on bond pending trial, which is set for May 8.
