Brookings County will sell $1.8 million in bonds to finance the renovation of its 100-year-old courthouse.
Commissioners made the decision last week as they reviewed plans for the bond sale.
Bids for the $2.6 million project are expected to be opened July 10 and awarded the following day. Work could begin almost immediately.
The courthouse is being remodeled as a justice center. It will house only courtrooms and court services officers. Most county offices are being moved to the new Brookings City and County Government Center.
