Briefing: I-29 Crash, Weekend Pursuits
December 19, 2011, 9:53 AM
Interstate 29 & Skunk Creek
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
What started as a traffic violation eventually led Sioux Falls Police on two pursuits early Saturday morning and two arrests.
Officials say Nicole Gerry ran from the vehicle but was caught and charged with having drugs. They later caught up with Jarvis Bason in a mobile home park after he left the car on foot. He's also charged with having drugs, reckless driving, driving with a revoked license and fleeing police.
Plus, emergency crews responded to a car around 2:30 Sunday morning that had lost control, plunged off Interstate 29 near the 26th Street exit and landed on its top.
The two girls inside, 21-year-old Nichole Kempf and 22-year-old Ashley Gabriel of Sioux Falls, were both in serious condition at last report.
Officials haven't said whether alcohol was involved.
