Daria Bossman has been named the new state librarian in South Dakota.
Bossman has served as interim state librarian for the past five months. She started at the library in 2008 in development services.
Bossman formerly worked as director of library services and assistant professor for 15 years at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
State Education Secretary Melody Schopp says Bossman's background in library development and experience in education are a "solid fit" for the position.
