Book Tells South Dakota's History Through Pictures

Book Tells South Dakota's History Through Pictures

South Dakota will celebrate 125 years of statehood next year. While many books have documented the States’ 100 plus years of history, one group of authors chose to tell the states story through pictures.

"South Dakota 125 - A Pictorial History" is published to commemorate the states upcoming birthday. Where the book highlights many historic events Co-Author John Andrews says most pictures tell of the everyday life of South Dakotans.

“A lot of events that are included in the book you could write about forever and ever but they do say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think you'll find it's the case with a lot of these photos,” Andrews said

A write up of the story behind each picture is also included in the book. Two of the three authors were present at Zandbroz today to sign copies of the book.
