Body Found In Parking Lot In Mitchell

Mitchell police are investigating the death of a 58 year old man found in a parking lot Thrusday morning.

Lt. Don Everson said police received a call just before 8 a.m. Thursday, after a passerby saw a man laying face down in a parking lot near 6th Street and Lawler Street. That area is just behind the Corn Palace to the east.

The man was dead when police arrived. Everson says right now, foul play is not suspected, but he says investigators are not ruling anything out. An autopsy is being conducted to figure out how the man died.

Police didn't release the name of the man. Everson says more information on this investigation should be released Thursday afternoon.
