SIOUX CITY, IA -
Sandi Davenport's face should look familiar to our viewers.
Monday KELOLAND's Kelly Bartnick brought you the story of this remarkable body builder who's lifetime challenge is cerebral palsy. Now just days later, Sandi is getting set to compete in Sioux City.
“I am competing in the rock solid body building figure fitness physic bikini competition. I'm of course in the physique,” Sandi said. “I try to be a good team player, and nice to everyone because you never know. All of these woman, have worked their butts off to get here like I have.
And so after six months of a very strict food regiment and time in the gym, Sandi took her place on the stage.
Watching anxiously in the crowd was Sandi's personal trainer Heidi LaFranz. With every pose she struck, Heidi cheered on her subject who she says has been nothing less than an inspiration.
Just as quick as she stepped on the stage, the applause carried her off. Although she was only flexing her muscles for a little over a minute, there are no signs that this will be her last time under the lights.
