Big Temperature Swing

Wednesday's 80 degree weather in southeast KELOLAND will soon be a thing of the past as it will quickly blow out of here riding the strong northerly winds.

We've seen these one day temperature swings in October before.  Since 1990, I found three instances when the temperatures went for the 80s in Sioux Falls to the 40s and 50s the next day. 

The biggest one day swing during that time happened in 1993, when the thermometer swung from 83 degrees on the seventh of October to 48 degrees the next day.  That's a difference of 35 degrees.

And it looks like the cool weather will stay with us through the first half of the weekend, with another shot of cool air by mid-week of next week

While October can be known for wild temperature swings, I don't see much of a significant warm-up with temperatures remaining above average until the second half of the month.
