Rodney Berget
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
South Dakota prison inmate Rodney Berget will find out his fate Monday morning.
Berget had a four-day sentencing hearing this week to determine if he should serve life in prison or be executed for killing Correctional Officer Ron Johnson during an escape attempt last spring.
Late Friday afternoon, administrators in the second circuit court announced that Judge Brad Zell will hand down Berget's sentence Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.
Judge Zell has been deliberating Berget's sentence since the hearing ended Thursday morning.
