An inmate from the Beadle County Corrections Center who was captured in Sioux Falls Tuesday is headed back to the state's largest city.
Shortly after returning to Huron Wednesday, a judge sentenced Charles Beeney, Jr. to the maximum two years in the South Dakota State Prison for an aggravated eluding charge after his arrest last month.
Authorities caught him stealing fuel for a stolen pickup, which turned into a chase through several counties that eventually ended with a crash near Alpena.
Beeney did not speak in court Wednesday other than to say, "no."
No new charges have been filed regarding Tuesday's escape.
KELOLAND's Erich Schaffhauser was in the courtroom and will have the details tonight on KELOLAND News.
