Holiday shopping procrastinators are hitting the stores, but some are strategizing just to beat the crowds.
"I came down last night and I did some late night shopping and that was very nice, no lines. I could get up to the counters, it was perfect," shopper Sherry Rost said.
Rost finds a way to beat the crowds as she searches for the perfect gifts and those last-minute stocking stuffers. She says most years she doesn’t hit the stores this late in the game, but this year she’s doing what she has to do.
"This year, I didn't have a choice. It does make you make your mind up quicker and just do it," Rost said.
Management at locally owned Lewis Drug says if you are shopping late there is still plenty left for the deal hunters.
"As you get closer to the holiday, there are a lot of opportunities for discounts and stuff that you'll see in different retailers too," senior Vice President of Merchandise and Marketing Bob Meyer said.
As for Rost, she says the last minute sprint to the store is just the spirit of the season.
"It's just fun to see all the decorations and see the people and fight the crowd, that is all part of Christmas," Rost said.
