Viborg-Hurley dominated in overtime to beat James Valley Christian 55-47 on Thursday in the first round of the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament.
The Cougars (22-2) led by three when James Valley Christian's Adam Hofer caught a full-court pass and buried a three-pointer with a second left to play, sending the game into overtime.
Viborg-Hurley scored the first seven points in overtime, and ended up outscoring the Vikings 10-2 in OT.
Tyler Gerdes led the Cougars with 19 points, Andrew Hora added 13 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, and Jack Huether added 12 points. They outscored the Vikings 15-4 from the free throw line.
Hofer led James Valley Christian with 29 points.
