Zach Hanson scored the final five points of the game, lifting Pierre T.F. Riggs to a 47-45 semifinal victory over Sioux Falls Lincoln on Friday at the South Dakota boys Class AA basketball tournament.
Hanson converted a three-point play with 22 seconds left to tie the game at 45-45, and hit a pair of free throws with 3.8 seconds to play to send Riggs (19-5) into the title game. Hanson scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Lane Severyn added 18 points for the Governors.
Adam Jaros, who led Lincoln (13-12) with 16 points, gave the Patriots a 45-42 lead with 48 seconds left when he hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game. Nermin Krdzalic added 10 points for Lincoln.
