Adam Jaros scored 16 points as Sioux Falls Lincoln defeated Brookings 53-48 on Thursday during the first round of the South Dakota Class AA basketball tournament.
Jaros made eight of nine free throws and had two three-pointers for the Patriots (13-11). Joining him in double figures was Addison Park with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Tyler Nagy was equally effective from the line for Brookings, hitting nine of 10 attempts for 16 points. He was only 3-for-14 from the field and 1-for-7 from the line. Kaleb Vig added 13 points.
Neither team shot well from the field. Lincoln hit 38 percent for the game and 29 percent from three-point range. Brookings (17-8) shot 34 percent overall and 22 percent on three-pointers.
This is Lincoln's 31st tournament appearance at the tournament.
