BayHawks Defeat Skyforce
ERIE, PA -

The Erie BayHawks extended their winning streak to three games following a 115-107 victory over the visiting Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday night. Erie’s bench bunch provided a boost for the BayHawks, outscoring the Sioux Falls reserves 50-5.

Sioux Falls (17-12) used 11 points from Damian Saunders in the first quarter to take a 30-23 lead into the second frame. The BayHawks (17-12) received nine points from both D.J. Kennedy and Erik Daniels and battled back to take a two point advantage into the intermission. Donald Sloan led all scorers in the first half with 17 points in his first trip back to Erie following a December trade to the Skyforce.

The BayHawks maintained a lead throughout the third quarter and took a nine point lead into the final twelve minutes. The BayHawks extended their lead to 14 early in the fourth on a three pointer from Nick Covington. The Skyforce battled back but came up short, falling by a final of 115-107.

Demonte Harper led the BayHawks with 21 points off the bench to go along with seven rebounds and six assists. Kennedy chipped in with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Henry Sims poured in 18 points. Erik Daniels scored 11 points off the bench and tied Ivan Harris for Erie’s all-time lead in points scored. Sloan scored 34 points, dished out nine assists and grabbed 7 boards in a losing effort for Sioux Falls. Demetris Nichols (26) and Damian Saunders (22) also had solid nights for the Skyforce.

The BayHawks and Skyforce square off again tomorrow night from the Erie Insurance Arena at 7 PM. The first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive a free D.J. Kennedy lithograph, courtesy of The Brewerie. Kennedy and the artist of the lithograph, George Humes, will be signing autographs following the game.
