A man has reached an out-of-court settlement with a topless casino in Rapid City over a claim he was fired as a bartender because of his gender.
Gary Wasson filed the lawsuit in federal court against Angie's, also known as Video Blue.
He worked at the casino as the only male bartender for about a year until 2006, when his hours were cut and he was fired.
Wasson says the manager told him the casino didn't want to employ male bartenders so he filed a report with the state Division of Human Rights.
The state agency concluded he had probable cause and could go ahead with a civil lawsuit.
According to the federal court docket, a settlement conference was held October 10 but details were not released.
