GOODWIN, SD -
Two Goodwin men are charged with selling synthetic drugs in a drug-free zone.
50-year-old Phillip L. Plunkett and 39-year-old Jason D. Toben both face a handful of charges. Authorities say the case involves K2 and bath salts.
According to court papers, law enforcement officers received a tip Plunkett was selling synthetic narcotics and pipes from the Chicago Avenue Bar in Goodwin, which he also owns. The papers go on to say Plunkett and Toben, a bartender, sold undercover officers synthetic marijuana in January, February and March.
During these stings, officers said Plunkett and Toben would go into a back room several times to smoke.
The substances police obtained were marked with stickers that said "Roll With It" and tested positive as synthetic cannabinoids.
Plunkett is facing more than 35 years in prison and Toben faces up to 30 years.
