Northern State University President James Smith says the expansion of the Barnett Center athletic facility has fallen behind schedule and there is no estimated completion date.
The privately funded $3.2 million project began last July and was to be done at the end of March. Smith says that because of the missed deadline, Gray Construction of Watertown is paying the university about $650 per day until construction is completed. He says exterior work is done but much interior work remains.
Project manager LaVere Trowbridge declined comment.
