Bake Sale Benefits 4-Year-Old Battling Leukemia

June 12, 2014, 11:18 AM by Hailey Higgins

Bake Sale Benefits 4-Year-Old Battling Leukemia
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A group of children are raising money to help their friend who was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year.

Four-year-old Henry is facing the toughest battle of his young life. The child is not responding to typical leukemia treatments and is now relying on trial drugs to fight the disease.

In the meantime, his friends at Grand Fun Alley Learning Center are holding a bake sale to help pay for a transplant later this year. The bake sale was supposed to wrap up around noon Thursday, but the kids have asked to miss their field trip to keep raising money for Henry.

Grand Fun Alley Learning Center is located at 3704 S. Marion Road in Sioux Falls. The daycare is also accepting donations after the bake sale. They hope to raise $300.
