Bad Weather Causing Travel Problems In KELOLAND

Bad weather in the northeastern part of KELOLAND is causing travel problems. Employees at the Coffee Cup, a gas station just off of Interstate 29 in Summit, South Dakota, say the visibility continues to get worse as the morning progresses.

“[There is] a lot of snowing and blowing. It is just a lot of wind, when you are standing by the front doors you can hear it,” Coffee Cup employee Janet Eastman said.

Eastman says some people are even finding it difficult to stay on the roads. Some families are waiting until the storm passes to get back on the interstate.

“We have one family who stopped a few hours ago and they have [stayed] here,” Eastman said.

Eastman believes many people are playing it safe and not hitting the road during the nasty weather.

"I think most people are staying off the roads right now because we haven't seen much of anybody,” Eastman said.
