Sioux Falls police think two overnight armed robbery calls are the work of the same gunman.
The first took place just before midnight Saturday at Aces Casino at 20th and Cliff, across the street from Avera McKennan Hospital. Police say the man showed a handgun to the clerk, but left without taking any money. As police worked the scene, a second robbery call came in, barely fifteen minutes later.
The second holdup took place at Connexions Casino just off 41st and Marion, on the other side of town. This time, the gunman did get away with money. Police think there's a connection to the earlier robbery attempt because the suspect descriptions are similar.
Police are looking for a Native American or Hispanic man, five-foot seven with a medium build. He was wearing a dark parka and dark pants. If you have any information, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at (605) 367-7007.
