Authorities continue to investigate the death of a 19-year-old Sioux Falls man, whose body was found in a car at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds on Monday.
Minnehaha County Sheriff Mike Milstead announced Friday that autopsy results show Michael Stevens was shot three times, and whoever shot him used a 20-gauge shotgun. The gun also used sabot slugs. Those are only used for deer hunting in a small area of Minnehaha County in South Dakota and in neighboring states.
"It makes it a little bit unique in that someone in the public who knew about someone with a 20-gauge, in particular one who had or recently purchased these sabot slugs. It's certainly another track for investigators to go down and one they have been going down," Milstead said.
The sheriff also says they have no reason to believe the homicide happened at a different location other than the fairgrounds.
