Authorities On Scene Of Standoff In Marion
MARION, SD -

Authorities continue to be on the scene of a standoff in Marion, South Dakota at a house to the west of Main Street.

Turner County Sheriff Byron Nogelmeier says they received a call around 9 a.m. saying there was a person who had barricaded himself in his grandmother’s home. The suspect’s grandmother was inside the home, along with a cousin of the suspect. His grandmother was released from the home, but the suspect’s cousin is still inside with the man.

This is the same man police were looking for Sunday night in connection with a high speed chase that involved three different counties.

We are told that this man is on the run from police. But, police say the suspect is communicating with them, but he is considered armed and dangerous.

We have a news crew on the scene and will bring you the latest details as they come in.
