Sioux Falls Police say a 43-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car near 18th Street and Sycamore Avenue.
Our KELOLAND News crew on the scene said a backpack and some clothes could be seen in the middle of the street where the crash happened.
Police spent the morning reconstructing the scene.
Authorities say the man who was hit was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Authorities are still investigating what led to this.
"We have a few a year, car-pedestrian crashes, every year. There's always a different set of circumstances. Sometimes it's the pedestrian that's not paying attention, sometimes it's the driver that's not paying attention," Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said.
Authorities are still notifying the victim's relatives and will not release his name until that is done.
Tonight on KELOLAND News, a woman who lives close to the crash site tells us what she saw.
