Authorities are continuing to investigate an apartment fire Thursday morning.
Fire crews were called to River Greenway Apartments on East 12th Street around 6:45 p.m. on Christmas Day. Upon arrival, they saw both smoke and fire coming from the attic of the three-story building.
Authorities quickly evacuated the building and had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
Power to the complex was shut off for safety reasons. Residents were not allowed back in the building Wednesday night. Many stayed with friends or were helped by the Red Cross.
No one was injured and officials say they are still investigating the cause.
