The Deuel County Sheriff and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the discovery of bones in rural Deuel County.
The bones were discovered in a shelter belt this month and South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says the circumstances appear suspicious, but the investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
Experts are working to identify the bones before releasing any more information.
