Authorities Concerned With Increasing Amount Of Meth In SF

Within the last year, the increasing amount of meth in Sioux Falls has been a concern for authorities.

According to the Minnehaha County State's Attorney, police seized nearly 1,900 grams of meth in 2012. That's up from 450 grams in 2011.

The latest meth case yielded another significant bust for police. Last week, the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force found 26 grams of meth - along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside a home at 1003 North Van Eps Avenue, which is in a drug-free zone.

Howard Thomas and his son Corey face multiple drug charges. Four others also face charges.

Howard was arrested at that same house for similar crimes 15 years ago.

Tonight on KELOLAND News, Brady Mallory takes a closer look at these numbers and sees how officials are combating them.
