LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Augustana College women's golf shot a 309 on Monday afternoon and moved up three spots and is tied for second after the second round at the Central Region Championships. The Vikings are tied with Henderson State at 41-over-par 617 (308-309) heading into Tuesday's final round of play.
Central Oklahoma leads all teams at 26-over-par 602 (300-302) and holds a 15-stroke lead heading into the final 18 holes tomorrow.
Augustana's Allie Ostrander had another strong performance for the second straight day for the Vikings shooting a two-over-par 74 and is tied for second overall. Ostrander entered the clubhouse with identical scores of 74 in both rounds and is currently four-over-par 148 for the tournament.
Taylor Neidy of Central Oklahoma leads all players after two rounds with an even-par 144 (72-72). Ostrander finds herself four strokes off the lead and tied with round-one leader Rebecka Surtevall (148, 71-77).
Maggie Leland carded an eight-over-par 80 this afternoon and is tied for eighth individually at 10-over-par 154. Leland posted a two-over-par 74 in the first round and finds herself 10 strokes off the lead heading into the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Marisa Toivonen shaved four strokes off her first-round score this afternoon carding a four-over-par 76. Toivonen is tied for 15th individually with a 12-over-par 156 after two rounds. Jordan Bormann fired a 79 on Monday and is tied for 22nd overall with a 15-over-par 159.
Jennifer Pederson is in a tie for 37th overall with an 18-over-par 162 two-round score. Pederson fired an 80 in yesterday's first round before shooting an 82 this afternoon.
Augustana is making its seventh straight regional tournament appearance and will be seeking its seventh straight NCAA Championship berth when it takes the course tomorrow. The top three finishers at the Central Region Championships will earn an a spot in the NCAA Championships at Rock barn Golf & Spa May 14-17 in Conover, N.C.
