ATM Thieves Target Second Tea Business
March 19, 2010, 12:37 PM
TEA, SD -
Thieves have twice targeted ATMs in the southeast South Dakota town of Tea - a community considering eliminating its police department.
The first attempt was about three months ago at a credit union.
The second happened early Thursday at a grocery store.
Police are not saying whether they believe recent ATM thefts in the area are connected.
Officials in Tea are considering dissolving the city's long-standing police department and relying instead on sheriff's deputies for law enforcement to save money.
