Last weekend, a lot of us experienced the coldest weather we've seen in two years.
The same arctic system that brought bitterly cold temperatures to KELOLAND is pushing east. From New York to North Carolina, it's making travel difficult and closing down schools.
In the past week, 327 towns set new records for low temperatures and more than 100 records fell for snowfall totals.
While we aren't exactly toasty here in the High Plains, it's warming up. Half as many states felt below-zero temperatures on Friday, compared with Thursday.
Even with the bitter cold lasting a while, many spots are still slightly above average for January.
But changes are coming once again and that could adjust our monthly average. The jet stream will again take a dive to the south by the middle of next week. That will allow another round of arctic air into KELOLAND.
