Arby's To Donate Money To Backpack Program

July 11, 2012, 4:51 PM by Hailey Higgins

Arby's To Donate Money To Backpack Program

Feeding South Dakota's Backpack Program will receive an estimated $15,000 from a partnership with Arby's this month.

On July 31, the fast-food chain will give 25 percent of the day's proceeds towards the program, which gives food to children over the weekend who would otherwise go hungry. The fundraiser is a celebration of the local franchise's 25th anniversary.

All four Sioux Falls locations are participating.

"I feel wonderful about it and I am so glad our stores can give back to the community that's been so good for us over the last 25 years," Mike Walz with Arby's said.

Arby's restaurants in Aberdeen, Watertown, Brookings, Mitchell, Yankton and Oacoma are also donating 25 percent of profits toward local feeding programs on July 31.
