Applications for the next round of the Deadwood Fund grant program are being accepted.
The fund encourages large scale restoration or rehabilitation of historic properties. The grants awarded range from $1,000 to $25,000 and must be matched dollar for dollar from nonfederal and nonstate sources, with nonprofits able to use in-kind services for half of their match.
The funding comes from Deadwood gaming revenue that is earmarked by state law for historic preservation projects.
Applications can be found on the South Dakota State Historical Society website.
