Judge Roger L. Wollman of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will discuss the Constitution on Monday at an annual event held by the University of South Dakota.
Constitution Day was established by Congress in 2004 to recognize the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. All colleges and universities that receive federal funding are required to host an educational event about the Constitution.
Wollman will speak Monday at 4 p.m. at the USD School of Law courtroom.
Wollman graduated from the USD School of Law in 1962. After practicing law in Aberdeen, he became a member of the South Dakota Supreme Court in 1970 and was chief justice from 1978 to 1982. He was appointed to the federal appeals court in 1985.
