January 9, 2012, 4:30 PM
HARRISBURG, SD -
A house explosion northwest of Harrisburg sent two people to the hospital Monday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to a ranch-style home south of Sioux Falls, which is now a total loss. Investigators believe the fire may have been caused by a propane explosion. Firefighters from Sioux Falls and Harrisburg battled the fire and crews remain on the scene.
A father and daughter were at home at the time. They were both taken to get immediate medical care; one of them is being treated at a burn unit in Minneapolis.
The fire marshal is on the way to help with the investigation.
