The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning for far eastern South Dakota, and winter weather advisories in other parts of that region and also southeastern North Dakota.
Forecasters say half a foot of snow or more could fall in eastern South Dakota, and southeastern North Dakota could see 2-4 inches. Wind gusting up to 35 mph could make travel hazardous in the region.
Snowstorms have been crossing the Dakotas for the past week, dumping record amounts of snow in some areas. Eastern South Dakota is still recovering from a three-day snow and ice storm last week. Officials in Sioux Falls say they might have to suspend tree branch cleanup because of the new storm.
