SIOUX FALLS, SD -
KELOLAND Television unveiled a major overhaul of KELOLAND.com early Wednesday morning.
“Almost every month we're tweaking something or adding something, but this is a completely different viewer experience,” KELO-TV General Manager Jay Huizenga said.
Huizenga says while the site is all new, there is no shortage of information.
You'll find all the news of the day, including community news and events, breaking news, video and more. But the site redesign lets you adjust it to your personal preferences.
“If you're not interested in agriculture, you don't have to see any stories in the agriculture category. If you want to see a lot of stories, you can see a whole list of stories we've done on agriculture,” Huizenga said.
Each colored category in the middle of the page can be adjusted to fit viewer preferences. You can even choose which category you see first: business, sports, politics, healthbeat, even world and national news are all customizable to exactly what stories, and how many, you would like to see.
“Whether it's mobile, whether it's websites or whether it's television, all things we're doing is evolving along with the viewer or the user,” Huizenga said.
The change makes KELOLAND.com just as current as KELOLAND android and i-Device applications for news and weather. It features a larger video player too, and while the site is all new, Huizenga says it's also just the beginning as the station continues to tweak all news platforms to fit your needs.
“You just want to make the user experience about navigation and make sure what they're interested in they can find without having to look hard to find it,” Huizenga said.
