The active weather pattern continued this weekend in KELOLAND, with the worst weather in the far southeast. This picture near Jefferson shows one of the intense storms.
The most intense wind hit just south of Sioux City, with significant tree damage reported in Sergeant Bluff as uprooted trees fell on homes. Trucks were blown over on I-29 as the storms rolled through.
While the worst of the severe weather stayed on the edges of KELOLAND, heavy downpours made an impact. Viewers in Hull, Iowa reported heavy rain as this photo shows.
VIPIR indicates northern Sioux County picked up the brunt of that line of storms, with rainfall of at least 1-3".
Another downpour fell late in the afternoon over Lincoln County, affecting the grounds at LIFELIGHT. VIPIR shows at least .75" fell in a short 10-20 minutes.
That rain fell on top of the 3 inches the came before the festival.
Despite the downpours, the unofficial end of summer featured some very pleasant temperatures, something many have been thankful for as of late.
