Alabama's Late Shot Edges South Dakota State
TUSCALOOSA, AL -

Trevor Lacey nailed a 3-point shot at the buzzer to give Alabama a hard-fought, come-from-behind 70-67 victory over South Dakota State in the opener for both teams.

With the contest tied 46-46 with 9:41 left, Alabama built a 60-53 lead, but the Jackrabbits fought back to tie the game 67-67 with 28 seconds left, setting up Lacey's shot.

South Dakota State led 29-16 after a 3-pointer by Brayden Carlson with 4:14 left in the first half, but Alabama scored the half's final 11 points to trail 29-27 at intermission.

Trevor Releford's layup with 11:04 remaining put Alabama ahead 42-41, the Crimson Tide's first lead since the opening minute.

Releford finished with 18 points for Alabama. Rodney Cooper added 17, Lacey 15 and Andrew Steele 11.

Nate Wolters' 30 points, including 5 of 6 3-pointers, led South Dakota State in the game, part of the 2K Sports Classic.
