Air Force Releases C-130 Crash Photos
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The Air Force has released photos from the cargo plane crash that killed four North Carolina Air National Guard members in the Black Hills last week.

A North Carolina Air National Guard C-130 crashed while fighting the White Draw wildfire near Edgemont on July 1.  The aircraft, with six people onboard, had been dropping retardant on the 6.5 square-mile fire when the plane went down.

The four men killed include Lieutenant Colonel Paul Mikeal, Major Joseph McCormick, Major Ryan David, and Senior Master Sergeant Robert Cannon, all from North Carolina.

Two airmen were injured and hospitalized.  Their names will not be released.

The C-130 was one of two aircraft with the NCANG's 145th Airlift Wing equipped with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System, or MAFFS, sent to help fight wildfires in the Rocky Mountain Area.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
