AGs Of ND, SD To Observe Health Care Arguments
Marty Jackley, SD Attorney General

BISMARCK, ND -

The attorneys general of North Dakota and South Dakota plan to observe the U.S. Supreme Court's health care debate firsthand this week.

The Dakotas are part of a group of 26 states that are challenging the federal health care law. The Supreme Court is
hearing six hours of arguments over three days.

North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says it's one of the most significant cases the Supreme Court has ever handled. He says the justices are being asked to define the limits of congressional power.

The attorneys general will be taking turns as spectators in the courtroom. The 26 state lawyers only have six admission tickets to share.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says the attorneys general will also be meeting with the lawyer who's presenting their case.
