Acute Care Wait Times

November 30, 2005, 5:07 PM by Kelli Grant

It's 5 o'clock, you're feeling under the weather... and you don't have time to wait for a doctor.

It doesn't matter where you go -- whether it's the doctor's office, the emergency room or an acute care clinic -- you usually have to wait.

But now Sioux Valley Acute Care Clinics have put together this website to save you time.
If you log on, you can find wait times at each Sioux Valley location.
If there is a green light, that means the wait is less than 30 minutes.
If you see a yellow light, your wait will take a half hour to an hour.
A red light, means you can expect to wait for quite a while.

This site can also help you decide if the Emergency Room is a better option.
Lynn Thomas from Sioux Valley Health Plan said, "When you do go to the ER you can be triaged according to your illness so if you go for something minor you will wait until a more severe patient is taken through."
