Absentee Ballot Numbers Shatter Old Records
November 5, 2011, 6:25 PM
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
The sheer number of people voting absentee continues to shatter the old record in Sioux Falls and Saturday is no exception.
Nearly five thousand people have already cast their ballot for the proposed event center election. The old record is a mere 2,900. And the numbers are expected to climb even higher Monday and Tuesday.
“To me it is exciting because it means people are really energized about the election and interested in voting and that's great,” Interim City Clerk Sue Roust said.
Saturday more than 200 people voted absentee in just a few hours.
